Deig, Reitz Defense voted Week 4 Reis Tire Players of the Game

reis-potgThe Reitz Nation has spoken! Following the Panthers’ 56-16 win over Central, the readers of ReitzFootball.com voted for Evan Deig and the entire Reitz Defense to be the Week 4 Reis Tire Offensive and Defensive Players of the Game.

Deig, who received 59% of the vote, completed 11-of-19 this past Friday for 231 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 23 yards and another score.

On the other side of the ball, the Reitz Defense held the Bears to only 16 points and had 119 tackles, two interceptions and recovered two fumbles (one of which was returned for a touchdown by Tristan Hape). The defense received 47% of the vote, edging out Joey Diekman, who had 10 tackles, by only three votes.

Congratulations to these fine young men and the entire Reitz Football team!

Dan Engler's love for Reitz Football goes back a long time. Engler played for the Panthers all four years of high school and graduated in 1996.
That summer, as the popularity of the Internet began to explode, Engler's search for Reitz Football information came up empty, so his father suggested he create a website. Engler taught himself HTML and launched the Unofficial Reitz High School Football Home Page that August.
Since then, Engler, through ReitzFootball.com, has spent the past 25 years chronicling the rich history and tradition of Reitz High School Football.
Engler and his wife, Melissa, have two sons, Logan and Micah, and a daughter, Juliette. Engler has traveled all over the world but is proud to call Evansville his home.
