Reitz stops Seymour, 59-35

The Panthers used 49 unanswered first-half points to cruise to a 59-35 win Friday night over Seymour. Going into the game, the Owls had won two of their last three but were unable to use any momentum against the visitors, ranked No. 5 in Class 4A. Seymour finished 2-8.

Reitz, which improved to 9-1, will host Owen Valley (8-2) in the second round of the Class 4A Sectional 24 tournament next Friday. The Patriots advanced by downing Boonville, 28-21.

The winner of next week’s semifinal will earn a berth in the sectional championship game against the winner of the other semifinal (Jasper @ Central).
