Second-year head coach Andy Hape addresses the Panthers after winning his first championship at Reitz

Friday night’s game at Reitz Bowl was a classic battle that went back and forth throughout the night. However, Malik Higgins’ interception in the end zone with mere seconds remaining sealed the 45-38 victory.over Jasper to give the Panthers the Class 4A Sectional 24 Championship.

Reitz (11-1), advanced to the regional championship game, where they’ll meet the defending state champions and Class 4A’s No. 1 team, Columbus East (12-0). The Olympians, coached by former Panther head coach Bob Gaddis, will play host.

The win gave second-year head coach Andy Hape his first championship.

Jasper finished at 10-2.
