==============================

The Mighty Panthers face another big test this Friday night  as they host the Harrison Warriors in Herman Byers Field at Reitz Bowl.

Last year the Warriors lost the battle against Reitz, falling 28-0 in the regular season, but won the war, taking their next seven games and the Class 4A Sectional 24 Championship by beating Jasper, the team that ousted Reitz in the semifinals.

Reitz head coach Andy Hape, at 31-9 overall, is 3-0 against the Warriors.

Cory Brunson is 18-18 in his fourth year at Harrison. While he’s 0-3 against his alma mater, the former Panther assistant  and all-state player has turned things around for the east side school, leading them to their first 4-0 start since 1998.

Reitz (3-1) leads the series, which started in 1964, 44 games to 16, with one tie.

Kickoff for the city and SIAC battle, which will be the Panthers’ homecoming game, is scheduled for 7 p.m.
