Panthers playing for city championship tonight #ReitzBasketball

The Panthers have a shot to defend their city title tonight when they host the Bosse Bulldogs at Reitz Gym

While the Southern Indiana Athletic Conference title has been secured by Castle (the Knights won with a perfect 7-0 league record), the city boys basketball crown is still up for grabs.

Our Mighty Panthers, 11-10 overall, are 4-1 in city competition. Bosse, 14-7, has already clinched a share of the Evansville championship with a 5-0 record, but a Reitz win would give the Blue & Gray a share of the prize.

Since the 1993-94 season, the Panthers have won the city title five times:

  • 2001-02
  • 2004-05
  • 2006-07*
  • 2014-15
  • 2015-16

Bosse has won eight times in that same span:

  • 1995-96
  • 1996-97
  • 1997-98
  • 2005-06
  • 2006-07*
  • 2010-11
  • 2013-14
  • 2016-17

* The two schools also shared the title in the 2006-07 season.

Tipoff will be approximately 7:00 p.m. at Reitz Gym after the conclusion of the JV contest and is the regular season finale for both teams.
