Sectional pairings announced; Reitz draws Madison in first round
The 40th IHSAA state football tournament will commence on Friday, Oct. 19. Here are the pairings for Class 4A Sectional 16, of which Reitz is a part.
First round
Game 1: Madison (2-7) at Evansville Reitz (6-3)
Game 2: Seymour (4-5) at Evansville Harrison (1-8)
Game 3: Boonville (3-6) at Jasper (9-0)
Semifinals
Game 4: Evansville Central (6-3) at Winner of Game 1
Game 5: Winner of Game 2 vs. Winner of Game 3
Championship
Game 6: Winner of Game 4 vs. Winner of Game 5
Should Reitz defeat Madison, they would host Central in the second round, as the Bears drew the bye. Should the Panthers advance to the sectional championship game, they would be forced to go on the road.

Dan Engler's love for Reitz Football goes back a long time. Engler played for the Panthers all four years of high school and graduated in 1996.
That summer, as the popularity of the Internet began to explode, Engler's search for Reitz Football information came up empty, so his father suggested he create a website. Engler taught himself HTML and launched the Unofficial Reitz High School Football Home Page that August.
