Player of the Year nominations
While the season ended a little sooner than we all would have liked, the end is upon us.
ReitzFootball.com would like to have your nominations for Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year. Tell us who and why you think they should be nominated.
Once we have several nominees in place, we’ll open up a vote to let you decide which players best represented Reitz Football this year!

Dan Engler's love for Reitz Football goes back a long time. Engler played for the Panthers all four years of high school and graduated in 1996.
That summer, as the popularity of the Internet began to explode, Engler's search for Reitz Football information came up empty, so his father suggested he create a website. Engler taught himself HTML and launched the Unofficial Reitz High School Football Home Page that August.
Since then, Engler, through ReitzFootball.com, has spent the past 25 years chronicling the rich history and tradition of Reitz High School Football.
Engler and his wife, Melissa, have two sons, Logan and Micah, and a daughter, Juliette. Engler has traveled all over the world but is proud to call Evansville his home.

Malik Higgins as offensive player…made big plays to keep us in some games and took control of the North win. Jordan Summerrs as defensive player…had a lot of big plays to keep opposition frrom scoring and some key interceptions.
Jordan Summers gets my vote for offense and defense! On defense he not only led the team in interceptions he led the city in interceptions 2 yrs in a row. On offense he scored the 1st touchdown of the season and the last. He has hands like a magnet and can jump off the ground like theres no such thing as a gravity! He’s an all around athlete that plays the entire game on both sides of the ball and special teams returning punts for TD’s! Jordan is a great kid and deserves this nomination!
I nominate Link Dierks for Defensive Player of the year. Link was a strong leader who did his job well. He ended the season as the leading tackler for the Panthers but was never showy about his accomplishment. He just wanted to get the job done for his team. Besides linebacker, he also was the long snapper, and played on punt return as well. Link would be a great representative of what Reitz Football truly is.
