Reitz vs. Central: #ReitzFootballFriday Week 4 presented by Tracy Zeller Jewelry

It will be a battle of undefeateds when Reitz takes on Central this Friday night at Reitz Bowl. The Panthers bring a 3-0 record into their first city game of the year, while the Bears are 2-0 (NOTE: Central is now 3-0, as the IHSAA ruled that the Bears’ Week 1 game against North Oldham (Ky.), previously considered a cancellation, is now a forfeit).

Reitz is 1-0 in the SIAC while Central is 1-0 in the league and city.

In the oldest rivalry between city schools, the Panthers lead the series, 68-30-4. While Reitz has won the past two meetings, the Bears had won the prior two.

Dan Engler's love for Reitz Football goes back a long time. Engler played for the Panthers all four years of high school and graduated in 1996.
That summer, as the popularity of the Internet began to explode, Engler's search for Reitz Football information came up empty, so his father suggested he create a website. Engler taught himself HTML and launched the Unofficial Reitz High School Football Home Page that August.
Since then, Engler, through ReitzFootball.com, has spent the past 25 years chronicling the rich history and tradition of Reitz High School Football.
Engler and his wife, Melissa, have two sons, Logan and Micah, and a daughter, Juliette. Engler has traveled all over the world but is proud to call Evansville his home.
