Reitz falls to Columbus East, 42-14
Columbus East, ranked No. 1 in Class 4A, overwhelmed the visiting Reitz Panthers Friday night, 42-14, to win the Class 4A Regional Championship.
The Olympians improved to 13-0 and will travel to No. 2 New Palestine (13-0) for the Semi-State title next weekend.
The fifth-ranked Panthers finished their season at 11-2.
On a side note, this year’s team was so much fun to watch. Their offense was simply explosive, and has earned them a spot in the Top 10 Most Offensive Teams of all time (more info coming soon about that). Hats off to this championship team!

Dan Engler's love for Reitz Football goes back a long time. Engler played for the Panthers all four years of high school and graduated in 1996.
That summer, as the popularity of the Internet began to explode, Engler's search for Reitz Football information came up empty, so his father suggested he create a website. Engler taught himself HTML and launched the Unofficial Reitz High School Football Home Page that August.
Since then, Engler, through ReitzFootball.com, has spent the past 25 years chronicling the rich history and tradition of Reitz High School Football.
Engler and his wife, Melissa, have two sons, Logan and Micah, and a daughter, Juliette. Engler has traveled all over the world but is proud to call Evansville his home.
