While the 2015 edition of the Mighty Panthers added to the rich legacy of Reitz Football, unfortunately there are no more games to look forward to this year. However, with so much tradition, there is plenty to look back on and remember.
With that in mind, ReitzFootball.com proudly presents “This Day in #ReitzFootball History,” a new series that will look back on the games played on a particular day throughout the nearly 100 years of our beloved school.
The Panthers have played 10 games on November 6.

The worst season in Reitz football history exploded into a shower of kisses and Memorial’s glamorous 17-game winning streak was left to shudder in the impassive darkness last night as the Hilltoppers stole the Tigers’ favorite weapon and then found it pays to put all your hopes in one Baskett.
Striking for a touchdown in the third period and then shocking the once-incorrigible Tigers with a long touchdown strike from big Ken Hansen to Brill Droll, the resolute and resourceful Hilltoppers then left it up to Doug Baskett to drive the final nail in Indiana’s most ornate football tapestry.
With only 2:46 remaining in the bitter struggle, Baskett kicked the ball through the uprights for the extra point to give the downtrodden Hilltoppers a spectacular 14-13 triumph and liquidate Memorial’s invincibility two games short of its second perfect season.
