The Mighty Panthers once again control their own destiny in regards to the SIAC championship race, but they’ll face another big test as they take on co-conference leader Memorial (4-1) Friday night at Enlow Field.
Six teams, Castle, Central, Harrison and Mater Dei, along with the Tigers and Reitz, all stand at 2-1 in the league.
Reitz head coach Andy Hape, at 32-9 overall, is 3-0 against the Tigers while John Hurley, at 54-49 in his ninth year at Memorial, is 0-8 against the Panthers.
Reitz (4-1) leads the series, which started in 1925, 54 games to 33, with five ties. Memorial’s last win in the series came in 2004.
Both high schools are named in honor of Francis Joseph Reitz, whose philanthropy helped fund the two institutions.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
