***Happy April Fools Day!***
Evansville’s legendary Fall Festival will be a little bit larger this year, thanks to a joint venture with Reitz High School. The West Side Nut Club has worked out a deal to move the Kiddie Park area to the Reitz Bowl and the neighboring practice field area.
“As the Fall Festival has continued to grow, space has become more and more limited,” according to Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke. “That’s why today’s announcement is so exciting.”
While it will be the first time in the festival’s 100 years that part of the festivities won’t be on Franklin Street, organizers are hopeful that people won’t mind a short one-mile walk to the Bowl.
“We’re going to have the giant slide actually go down the double dip,” according to Eric Broadway, a spokesman for the Nut Club. “We’ll need to tell the kids to watch out for cars, but it should be a lot of fun.”
