Recap of the Oct. 8 game

Hello everyone welcome to this week’s edition of the ReitzFootball.com Podcast presented by Reis Tires, where we go in chronological order to recap EVERY game in the history of Reitz High School Football. I’m your host, Dan Engler.

This week, the Panthers venture across the Mighty Ohio to Owensboro for their first-ever meeting with the Red Devils.

“The Reitz lads are showing more class lately,” according to Coach Maple in the Oct. 8 Courier. Their improved skills, however, weren’t enough to stop the veteran team, and Owensboro ran over the Panthers, 55-6.

Wilson was the all-star for the Red Devils. He was responsible for 35 of the team’s points, with three rushing touchdowns, two passing scores and five kicks from goal.

The Panthers’ only score once again came from team captain Ralph Woods. The senior quarterback connected with Emerson Lynch for a 20-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

Reitz fell to 0-2 while Owensboro improved to 2-0.

Next week, the Panthers are on the road again at Mount Vernon.

Woods once again set a record, extending his career touchdowns thrown to six.
