Reitz, ranked eighth in this week’s UPI poll and apparently headed for higher places, now braces for next Friday’s epic showdown with Harrison (2-0) at Enlow Field … and already Padgett’s mood is clouding over over that one. “I’m not gonna lie to you,” he announced, “if I was a betting man, I’d bet on Harrison.”
A bystander asked him how much he wanted to wager. Padgett grinned for the first time in months and declared, “I’m not a betting man.”
