Reitz first met Henderson County in 1978, but the Mighty Panthers’ history with their Kentuckian neighbor city goes back much further. The predecessor to County High, Henderson Barret, actually gave Reitz their worst loss in school history in their first meeting, back in 1919. Although the Purple Flash would win the next three meetings, the Panthers would win the next 12 before the series ended in 1953.
