Ed Wessel is a member of the Reitz Football Hall of Fame Class of 2014 and was an all-state tackle for Reitz in 1947. After playing for Evansville College, he became Oblong (Ill.) High School’s head coach, and later an assistant at Bosse. He then served as an assistant for North before becoming the Huskies’ head coach from 1976 to 1980.
He was inducted into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame in 2001 and is also a member of the Evansville North High School Hall of Fame.
He was inducted into the inaugural class of the Greater Evansville Football Hall of Fame on Oct. 9, 2016.
