Reitz vs. Henderson County: #ReitzFootballFriday Week 1 presented by Tracy Zeller Jewelry

#RFFThe start of the 2015 season is only days away! Once again, the Mighty Panthers will kick things off with their cross-river rivals, Henderson County in the season opener for both teams. The Colonels are coached by former Reitz leader Tony Lewis.

The Panthers won last year’s encounter, 34-13, but Lewis led the southerners to a win at the Bowl in 2013.

201501Reitz leads the series, eight games to five. Coach Hape is 19-6 overall while Lewis is 114-40. They are 1-1 against each other.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Reitz Bowl.

Dan Engler's love for Reitz Football goes back a long time. Engler played for the Panthers all four years of high school and graduated in 1996.
That summer, as the popularity of the Internet began to explode, Engler's search for Reitz Football information came up empty, so his father suggested he create a website. Engler taught himself HTML and launched the Unofficial Reitz High School Football Home Page that August.
Since then, Engler, through ReitzFootball.com, has spent the past 25 years chronicling the rich history and tradition of Reitz High School Football.
Engler and his wife, Melissa, have two sons, Logan and Micah, and a daughter, Juliette. Engler has traveled all over the world but is proud to call Evansville his home.
