Sectional First Round: Reitz at Central presented by 125 Years of Southwestern Indiana High School Football

It’s time for the second season! While the first season was very good to the Central Bears, who finished 7-2 and won shares of the city and SIAC, it wasn’t so good to our beloved boys in blue, who ended the regular season at 3-6.

However, that is all behind us now. It’s literally do or die at Central Stadium tonight, and the Panthers have nothing to lose.

This will be the 113th meeting between the schools, which is the oldest rivalry in Evansville. This will also be the tenth meeting in the past five years!

Dan Engler's love for Reitz Football goes back a long time. Engler played for the Panthers all four years of high school and graduated in 1996.
That summer, as the popularity of the Internet began to explode, Engler's search for Reitz Football information came up empty, so his father suggested he create a website. Engler taught himself HTML and launched the Unofficial Reitz High School Football Home Page that August.
Since then, Engler, through ReitzFootball.com, has spent the past 25 years chronicling the rich history and tradition of Reitz High School Football.
Engler and his wife, Melissa, have two sons, Logan and Micah, and a daughter, Juliette. Engler has traveled all over the world but is proud to call Evansville his home.
