Class of 2020 announced for Reitz Football Hall of Fame; Bishop, Fisher, Given, Hart & Whicker officially inducted

After discussions with the Reitz Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee, five legendary Panther figures have been inducted into the Reitz Football Hall of Fame for the Class of 2020.

50+ years ago

25-49 years ago

  • Ryan Given (2-time All-State player, 1989 & 1990)

10-24 years ago

  • John Hart (Reitz head coach 2001-07; 73-17 w/l record & state championship)
  • Zach Whicker (All-State player, 2001; IFCA All-Star, 2002)

A planned banquet has been postponed, but hopefully once everything gets back to normal, we’ll have an opportunity to honor these five outstanding men and all the members of the Reitz Football Hall of Fame!

Dan Engler's love for Reitz Football goes back a long time. Engler played for the Panthers all four years of high school and graduated in 1996.
That summer, as the popularity of the Internet began to explode, Engler's search for Reitz Football information came up empty, so his father suggested he create a website. Engler taught himself HTML and launched the Unofficial Reitz High School Football Home Page that August.
Since then, Engler, through ReitzFootball.com, has spent the past 25 years chronicling the rich history and tradition of Reitz High School Football.
Engler and his wife, Melissa, have two sons, Logan and Micah, and a daughter, Juliette. Engler has traveled all over the world but is proud to call Evansville his home.
