Panthers draw Boonville in first round of 2021 football sectionals

The 49th Annual IHSAA Football State Tournament presented by the Indianapolis Colts is set to begin Oct. 22. Reitz competes in Class 4A Sectional 24 and drew the Boonville Pioneers in a first round game.

Sectional 24 (7 teams)
First Round (Oct. 22)
G1: Memorial (7-1) at Harrison (1-7)
G2: Reitz (3-5) at Boonville (2-5)
G3: Northview (6-1) at Jasper (8-0)
Semifinals (Oct. 29)
G4: Central (2-6) at G1 winner
G5: G2 winner vs. G3 winner
Championship (Nov. 5)
G6: G4 winner vs. G5 winner

This will be the fifth postseason meeting with the Pioneers. The winner of that game will play the Northview-Jasper winner.

Dan Engler's love for Reitz Football goes back a long time. Engler played for the Panthers all four years of high school and graduated in 1996.
