Panthers rack up more postseason honors

While the Downtown Quarterback Club recently announced their all-city team, eleven Panthers have been honored as all-state, all-metro, all-conference and/or all-city.

Here are all the postseason honors earned by Reitz Panthers:

  • Quentin Boeke, Evansville Downtown Quarterback Club center
  • Cory Brunson, All-Metro Co-Coach of the Year
  • Jonas Burnett, All-Metro, All-SIAC & Evansville Downtown Quarterback Club running back
  • Dylan Martin, All-SIAC 2nd team At-Large player
  • Levi Oxley, All-Metro, All-SIAC & Evansville Downtown Quarterback Club defensive line
  • J’Khari Phifer, All-Metro & Evansville Downtown Quarterback Club defensive back, All-SIAC 2nd team defensive back
  • Harlen Summers, IFCA Jr. All-State & All-Metro offensive line, All-SIAC guard/tackle & Evansville Downtown Quarterback Club tackle
  • Hayden Summers, IFCA Jr. All-State, All-Metro, All-SIAC & Evansville Downtown Quarterback Club wide receiver
  • Xavier Thomas, All-Metro, All-SIAC 2nd team & Evansville Downtown Quarterback Club wide receiver

Dan Engler's love for Reitz Football goes back a long time. Engler played for the Panthers all four years of high school and graduated in 1996.
That summer, as the popularity of the Internet began to explode, Engler's search for Reitz Football information came up empty, so his father suggested he create a website. Engler taught himself HTML and launched the Unofficial Reitz High School Football Home Page that August.
Since then, Engler, through ReitzFootball.com, has spent the past 25 years chronicling the rich history and tradition of Reitz High School Football.
Engler and his wife, Melissa, have two sons, Logan and Micah, and a daughter, Juliette. Engler has traveled all over the world but is proud to call Evansville his home.
